My services are all based on the needs of the organizations and the
individuals that comprise them, and are co-created after we explore your needs
together. To give you some ideas....
Facilitation of Board and Other Meetings
-
Many times it makes sense to have a neutral party facilitate your
meetings, so that leaders can participate fully in strategic conversations.
Although a professional, neutral facilitator can be helpful at any time, one
can be especially valuable to facilitate difficult conversations, or
conversations that need the group to move outside its comfort zone.
Training in Leading Circle and Council
Conversations
-
If your Board or other group aspires to hold deep, rich
conversations, you need to learn to lead these conversations. There
are principles, practices, and techniques you can learn that will help you
facilitate deeper, richer conversations, and over time, will help your group
develop trust, understanding and creativity that is far beyond what comes
from usual
meetings. Usually, it takes a group 3-4 meetings to learn to use the skills
of Council well, and continued facilitation support is helpful during this
learning curve.
Additionally, I believe in the power of sacred spaces... being in secluded,
beautiful settings helps people slow down and facilitates good conversation.

Board and Other Leader Interviews
-
This may be the perfect way to do a CEO appraisal - and it has
a lot of other uses. Together, we construct the questions, then I do
interviews of board members (and possibly others, determined by the
content). I transcribe the interviews, as close to word-by-word as
possible, and then write a report, summarizing what I heard with
recommendations. How is their board experience? What do they
think the organization ought to be doing that it's not? If they could
give the CEO one piece of advice, what would it be? CEO's, wouldn't
you like to get a report of what your board members are thinking?
Board members, wouldn't you like your CEO's to know these things?
Knowledge Cafes
-
Knowledge Cafes are a way to involve as small a group as 20 and as
many as several thousand folks in a conversation about what is important to
them. Based on the concepts of dialogue and self-organization,
Knowledge Cafes create community and understanding - as well as provide
valuable input for governance.
