Editorial Review
The second edition of the "consultant's bible" is here!
Janet McCallen Great advice for both external and internal consultants on helping groups deal with change. Block's contention that the most crucial part of consulting is contracting (not legally, but both parties getting clear on expectations and agreements) parallels the insight from Christina Baldwin's Circle Practicum (www.peerspirit.com) that I attended that most problems in groups come from lack of agreement on intention. He offers great practical advice on how to get clear agreements and expectations, as well as every other aspect of an engagement. But he really shines in the final chapters, where he adds philosophical material. It's 400 pages - not a light read, but a great go-to book.
